Over the past 10 years I have developed my own teaching business, the North Manchester Guitar School.
The business has grown organically on the strength of recommendations. All my lessons are taught on a 1:1 basis, and I have worked with up to 40 students at any one time age ranging between 5 years and 75 years.
I teach both classical and electric guitar and discuss personal aims and ambitions with each individual student to help guide them on their personal learning journey. Many of my students choose to take the route of exams to measure their progress and success but some are happy to learn for fun and I ensure that they also can achieve their own personal goals.
In 2010 I successfully completed the CT ABRSM course in guitar teaching with the Associated Board of the Royal School of Music and this experience improved my teaching enormously. Through constructive feedback and the sharing of ideas and resources with other music teachers and mentors, I am able to achieve better outcomes for my students.
I have taught up to and beyond Grade 8 Practical ABRSM and Grade 5 Theory ABRSM.
